My Process For Taking Care of Clients While Traveling

As a real estate agent, I take major pride in how I serve my clients. It’s not just a transaction to me. It’s a relationship that goes far beyond the closing table and I want my clients to feel that and trust that from day one.

One of the things that isn’t quite talked about enough, however, is how it’s possible for a real estate agent to take care of their clients at any given time. Because after all – we’re humans too! With families, commitments, a social life, and all of the potential unknowns that life can throw your way.

So how could a real estate agent possibly stay dedicated to serving their clients 100% in the midst of living their day-to-day life? It’s a great question! And honestly, every real estate agent probably has a different answer.

But at The Real Estate Collective, I’m a big fan of having systems and processes in place that I can fall back on for almost any situation. Which is why I’ve worked hard over the years to craft a client process that’s no different.

In this blog post, I’m giving an inside look to how I take care of clients specifically when I’m traveling, because like anyone when summer approaches, I’m itching for some sunshine, sand, and a margarita in my hand. ☀️🏖️🍹

So if you’re thinking about buying or selling your home in Billings this season, but you’re a little worried about what the process looks like and how you can trust that your real estate agent will be there for you every step of the way… I can’t speak for all agents, but what I can do is show you what it would look like when working with me!

How I Take Care Of My Real Estate Clients Even While I’m Traveling

First things first, when buying or selling your home it’s important to know the general first steps and what you can expect, which is why I curated a Buyer and Seller’s Series on the blog.

Through each of these, you’ll learn the first steps to take when you want to buy or sell a home, what to expect throughout the entire process, how to navigate the “under contract” phase, and finally how closing day works.

Each of these series also gives you a closer look at what it’s like to work with The Real Estate Collective specifically!

Once you know the nitty gritty details of those processes, we can move into a more granular view of what happens if we’re working together and I happen to be out of town.

The most important thing to know is that I almost always know ahead of time when I’ll be gone, which gives me the opportunity to prepare and make sure certain things are in place so that you really aren’t affected at all.

I’m typically not a big spontaneous traveler because ya girl likes to have a plan, so it’s very rare that I’m unexpectedly out of town!

With this, if you are an active client of mine, you’ll always be made aware of when I’m out of town and you’ll still be able to communicate with me even when I'm out.

Even with proper planning, however, life is still life and there’s always a chance that unexpected things *could* come up, which is why I’ve worked hard to partner with other trusted, local agents that I know have my back and my clients best interest at heart if or when I ever need them.

For example, this summer we’ll likely be spending a few weeks at our Florida house and I’ll know about those dates ahead of time. So let’s say a client (maybe you!) comes along and needs to be shown a few properties while I’m gone.

In this instance, I would schedule the showings according to your schedule, connect with one of my trusted local agents ahead of time, make sure they have everything they need for your specific situation, and give you a proper heads up and introduction to the agent who will be showing you the home in my place.

ALL communication, however, still comes from me! This isn’t one of those things where you’re talking with multiple people throughout your buying or selling process. I still serve as your primary agent who answers your questions, makes sure you have everything you need, and knows exactly what’s happening every step of the way.

The only thing that could potentially be different is who is showing you the properties that you’re interested in based on when I’m gone or what your schedule needs.

It’s incredibly important to me that as a client you always feel 100% clear on the ins and outs of your specific situation, which is why I’m adamant about remaining in the driver's seat for communication and information because I NEVER want wires to get crossed or cause confusion.

At the end of the day, I see it as my job to help you navigate the buying or selling process as smoothly and as stress free as possible and that remains true even if I happen to be out of town!
