The Royal Commandments of Reservations in Billings, MT For Your Next Date Night

The season is changing, the weather is getting cooler, the cozy clothes are coming out of the closet, and to me that screams one thing: DATE NIGHT!

I don’t know what it is about this time of year (currently writing this during late September), but the start of fall just brings a romantic vibe with it.

There’s no better feeling than ending a day of work, changing into a fancyish outfit, and heading out the door for a middle of the week date night with your favorite person.

Now, don’t get me wrong – I love throwing on sweats, cuddling up on the couch, and having a movie night in, but every now and then it’s fun to go out and enjoy your local city.

And with Billings being a prominent spot for foodies, we don’t run short of date night options! But if you are going out – whether it be on a week night or on the weekend – there’s a few places you should know about that require (or at least highly recommend) a reservation!

Because the last thing you want is to get your sight set on a specific spot just to be turned away due to no availability.

So, in this blog post I’m sharing my top date night restaurant picks throughout Billings that I personally wouldn’t go to without having a reservation just in case!

Top 5 Date Night Restaurants In Billings, Montana

It should come as no surprise that Walkers make the top of my list for a date night spot in Billings! This is your classic date night restaurant featuring a mix of international cuisine and western comfort foods in a casual yet urban setting.

Known for its trendy atmosphere and high-quality steaks, Walkers is a popular downtown spot that often fills up quickly, especially on weekends, so if you’re eyeing it for a Friday or Saturday, a reservation is highly recommended!

What I’d Order: The Burrata app, ANY cocktail, and I’m always a sucker for a pasta dish! But the steak is delicious too and their specials are always on point. And I would absolutely not be leaving without a slice of carrot cake for dessert!

(Oh! And I happen to know the owner personally and always aim to support others who value the Billings community as much I do. Get to know Executive Chef and General Manager, Nick Steen, HERE!)

If you’re looking for another fun spot in Downtown Billings, TEN is super popular among visitors and locals alike.

Located in the historic Northern Hotel, TEN is an upscale dining experience, perfect for special events or occasional date nights and like many nicer restaurants in the area, reservations are a must for a guaranteed table.

In addition to the yummy dishes offered on the menu, TEN also prides itself on a curated selection of craft cocktails and a comprehensive wine list, with expert recommendations available from their in-house sommelier.

What I’d Order: A smoked old fashioned, Wagyu Hot Dog (from the lounge menu!), and Pan Seared Scallops (from the dinner menu!)

And if you’re feeling super fancy, you could book a room for a Billings staycation while you’re at it!

The Granary is a 50 year landmark in Billings that has recently been remodeled with a modern design to match the upscale menu featuring your seafood favorites.

The new and improved patio makes for the perfect date night destination to enjoy a drink and a delicious meal while soaking in the ambiance that Billings has to offer.

What I’d Order: A wine from their vast selection, Wonton Tuna Bites, and OYSTERS – they’re fresh on the daily and insanely delicious.

Italian lovers unite! If you’re looking for a classic pasta dish paired with red wine, no place does it better in Billings than Bistro Enzo.

And even if you’re not looking for a pasta dish, their menu features other crowd favorites, like seafood, wood-fired pizzas, and hand-cut steaks.

This is the type of place you don’t want to leave your dinner spot up to chance – call to make a resy before going!

What I’d Order: 3 Words: Carbonara. Carbonara. Carbonara. 😂 But the Tuna Tartare is also amazing and I’ve gotta have the Burrata app. Pro Tip: order it with the crispy prosciutto!

But if you really want to take your date night up a notch, sign up for a Bistro Enzo Wine Dinner where you’ll get a carefully crafted multi-course meal featuring wines from local wineries!

And lastly, but most certainly not least, Jake’s Downtown is a local fave!

This locally owned and operated steakhouse was established in 1979 and has been serving up classic steakhouse fare ever since.

Between the amazing wine list and perfectly curated environment, it makes one of the best date night spots in Downtown Billings.

What I’d Order: A dirty vodka martini, Shrimp Wontons, and their Steak Oscar with a side salad. Insider Tip: their blue cheese is SO good! It’s homemade with walnuts.
