Outdoor Projects that increase ROI
It’s that time of year – summer projects are in full swing.
If you’re anything like my family, outdoor projects subbed as “quality time”. What greater bonding experiences than landscaping the yard in the heat of summer or re-staining the house, or my Dad’s personal favorite - hauling + splitting wood (because you can never be too prepared).
Regardless - Summer time is the time to get some isshh done if you know what I mean.
If I know you like I think I know you – you love a project. And you also love efficiency.
So how about we dig into the outdoor projects that will actually increase your return on investment.
Ie. Make you mo’ money down the road 💸
Build an Outdoor Fire Pit
Not only will you get the memories, you also have potential for a 67% rate of return according to the National Association of Realtors. This project is pretty neat because you can get really creative or you can stay simple. It has been proven over + over, most Buyer’s enjoy fire pits. So not only are you creating something you will enjoy as well - you’re increasing the sellability of your home at the same time.
Replace your Garage Doors
Curb appeal is everything. Replacing your garage doors will not only give you a fresh new look, there is also potential for 98% recouped costs when you go to sell or refi according to Remodeling Magazines Annual Cost vs Value report.
Update your Landscaping
NAR + The National Association of Landscape Professionals did a collaboration report and found an updated landscape not only boots curb appeal, it can also warrant a 83% return on investment. I’m talking about adding walkways, planting flowers/shrubbery, adding a tree, maybe updating your curbing!
Build a Deck
Did you know building a wooden deck is one of the projects with the highest "joy scores"? In a recent consumer survey conducted by HouseLogic, the NAR's homeowner resource site, a new wooden deck came in with a joy score of 9.7 out of 10 and 77% of consumers said they have had a greater desire to be at home since completing the project.
NAR estimates homeowners would see a 106% ROI.
